3.5 Stability

Anapplianceshallbeinstalledwithsufficientstabilitysoasnottodetractfromthe

intendednormaloperationoftheappliancenortocreateahazardforusersofthe

appliance.



3.8Seismicrestraint

Whererequiredbytheregulatoryauthority,provisionshallbemadeforseismicrestraint

ofthefloorprotectorandtheappliance.Sufficientrestraintshallbeprovidedtoresista

seismicloadingequalto0.4timesthemassoftheappliance.Theloadshallbeapplied

horizontallyinanydirectionatthemid‐heightofthecombustionchamber.Theappliance

shallnotmove,tiltorbedislodgedfromitsinstalledpositionduringapplicationofthe

load.
